TDS vs FTS

In yesterday’s post, I responded to a publicity pitch for a psychiatrist talking about TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) and how Carole Lieberman, MD feels that those who oppose Trump’s idiotic, illegal, conspiratorial , autocratic and profit-making presidency have a serious mental medical disorder that should be scientifically recognized and insurance-chargeable in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders

To her and other Republicans, this author replies with an acronym of my own - FTS (Fuck This Shit). This attempt to create a medical diagnosis out of empty air is no more than an effort to give her and the Republican’s obsessive, sycophantic allegiance to a man whose only goal is personal enrichment at the cost of our democracy and world order, some sort of sane context.

This is, in and of itself, a true sign of mental incompetency. After all, President Trump is a man whose perceived grievances have led him to seek revenge on those he considers enemies, a man whose only display of intelligence is creation of nicknames for those who cross him, a man who uses the Oval Office to embarrass visiting heads of state, who revels in past displays of authority by excessive use of gold leaf in his environment and who, individually, has destroyed alliances developed over the years. Trump is actively attempting to destroy the rule of law, undermine the Constitution, invalidate science, accept bribes, weaken the power of Congress, subjugate higher education to his will, dissolve agencies created by Congress and fire Federal workers he feels are unnecessary.

Supporting him in these efforts are the very same Republicans who call those of us who oppose his efforts to destroy democracy, mentally deranged.
